Why did you choose Yeti?

You were recommended to us by some friends who’s wedding you shot previously, and having taken a look through your gallery, we loved the style (not overly traditional and formal) – capturing the moment rather than forcing the moment. After speaking with you via a video call, you instantly made us feel relaxed and knew we wanted you to capture our special day.

You guys…what do you do?…how do you spend your days?

We both work in digital marketing, I am a Senior Digital Analyst, whilst Dan is Head of Performance at an agency where we’ve worked for the most part of our careers. Outside of work, a lot of our time is spent walking, feeding, grooming and loving our Golden Retriever, Louie, 3, who is a massive part of our lives. Dan is a sports nut, you’ll find him surfing, running and playing football and squash, with the odd bike ride if time permits!I’m also a music lover, playing music in every room and sometimes (really often!) singing and dancing along. Mood dictates the genre, but it’s usually dance, hip-hop and R&B. Dan is often turning it down!!

The proposal. Tell me everything. (All the gushy details!)

We got engaged on Westward Ho! Beach on 19th April 2019. We had just got back from a lovely trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy and were enjoying a chilled Easter weekend before going back to work. It was Good Friday and a very sunny day, so we decided to go to Westward Ho! beach for the day with Louie. We set up in a quiet spot on the far end of the beach and Dan went surfing for the morning, whilst I sunbathed. On his return, I suggested we walked down to the sea to cool Louie down. Dan went for a quick toilet pitstop (leaving me waiting!) and when he got back, we walked down to the sea together. Dan paddled in the sea with Louie to cool him off, nearly falling in in the process, which I found hilarious! As Dan came back out from paddling, he gave me a kiss and then said he had something to ask me. He got down on one knee and pulled my engagement ring out his pocket and said, “Will you marry me”. Before he could even finish his sentence, I jumped to give him a kiss and said yes, before even looking at the ring. The ring was perfect! Then I suddenly thought, he nearly fell in the sea with my ring in his pocket! It was a perfect moment for us – a beautiful day on the beach with no one around, except a lovely lone runner who spotted the situation unfolding from afar and yelled out ‘Congratulations!’ as she ran past with a huge smile. I always thought I’d know when he was going to propose, as he can be pretty obvious, but this was a complete surprise, especially following our romantic week away in Italy.

Sandy Cove Hotel…..Why this place above any where else?

We’ve chosen Sandy Cove for the wedding reception as we wanted somewhere private, modern and relaxed. It’s also nice that neither of us has been to a wedding there before. When we drove down to see it, we fell in love with the views and overall setup – it far surpassed the other venues we had visited locally.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

A relaxed and fun filled day. This will be many peoples first occasion since the pandemic began, so we really want people to enjoy themselves and be together.
