Steph & John - Anran, Devon

Why did you choose Yeti?

From the amazing reviews we had from Millie and James (her biggest regret was not having you too Matt). Your work speaks for itself and we cant wait to see the rest of it!

You guys…what do you do?…how do you spend your days?

We both currently work at the Royal Devon and Exeter as doctors. John specialises in gastroenterology (gut + liver stuff) and Steph oncology (cancer care). When we are not working we enjoy being outdoors or travelling. We have a growing collection of water sport equipment which now includes 2 paddle boards, a double kayak and a single kayak. We both enjoy cooking and baking and love having friends and family over to our house. We wanted to make sure our guests experience that at our wedding as well with good food, and drinks that we have chosen and enjoy. It also wouldn't be a true celebration without one of Steph's cakes.

The proposal. Tell me everything. (All the gushy details!)

John proposed during a trip to Italy in 2019. He had been away the week before at a course in Newcastle. In the evenings he went ring shopping and with the help of Pauline (Geordie Goldsmiths shop assistance with many years experience) he brought the perfect engagement ring (apart from being a couple of sizes too big). We had been walking around the coast line in Capri when John suggested we should take a seat on some stones about 200 yards from the top and the view point. Although it was a slightly odd suggestion Steph went a long with it and didn't think anything of it. Whilst sat looking at the view John pulled out his swim shorts (again very odd and the water was a long way down). inside one of the pockets was a ring box which he passed over to Steph saying 'I've brought you a present'. After being asked directly if to also came with a question of marriage Steph accepted through lots of laughing and asking if John was sure.

Anran…..Why this place above any where else?

We fell in love. After spending a couple of weekends driving around Devon looking at beautiful wedding venues we found ANRAN. We wanted somewhere where we could stay on site, feel like true Devon, serve good food and the booze we wanted. Anran gave us that and more. It had a luxurious feel without being too polished. It had the wow factor without being ostentatious.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

A true holiday in Devon. A great weekend of good food, booze, music and company

Why did you have your wedding captured on video?

I think I covered this above! haha
