Tell us more about you guys!

I’d say we’re both quite chilled, but that’s probably a better description of Tom. He’s so laid back he’s horizontal! I’m more uptight, but together we balance each other out! Ha ha! Both a bit of a perfectionist, Tom loves playing football, surfing, snowboarding, paddleboarding, although he hasn’t been able to do so much of those since getting injured a few years ago. He’s on the road to recovery and still paddleboards! I love dancing and have danced my entire life! We love getting on the dance floor, hosting friends and family at our home having bbq’s and using the pizza oven. It’s all about family, friends, fun times and good for us!

Trevenna Barns…..Why this place above any where else?

Because it’s so calm and chilled. And meant we could make it a weekend long event with our closest friends and family! We also adore Cornwall as we’re both love the sea and beach! (And pasties)

You guys…what do you do?…how do you spend your days?

Both work as structural engineers - met at work. Work can involved a day working from home, or a day on a building site, or at meetings with architects/clients etc. Important things to us: family, our friends, our cats Cece and Winston, each other and making time to have dinner and a catch up at the end of the day.

The proposal. Tell me everything. (All the gushy details!)

Just before lockdown 1, end of March 2020. Tom put candles everywhere in our in-decorated dining room and used pint to write ‘will you marry me’ on the bare white walls. We had no carpet and our house renovation was only 40-50% complete. He saved lots of our birthday and valentines cards and put them up everywhere with photos of us, and played our fave Jack Johnson songs. He asked me to come into the dining room as he had something to show me and he was on one knee with the painted wall behind him! He couldn’t say anything for the nerves and emotions. We then got picked up by a friend who dropped us to our local restaurant for dinner. Tom even topped it off with a personalised number plate with me soon to be surname! Hed also planned for both our parents to come up that weekend to celebrate!

Good food, lots of dancing, laughs!!
