Why did you choose Yeti?

We saw Yeti as one of the recommended Videographers in the Devon area and really appreciated you travelling all the way to Reading to capture our special day. We watched some of your videos on your website and thought you really captured the mood in those videos.

You guys…what do you do?…how do you spend your days?

Tom and Mel are both employment lawyers who met at uni in 2014.

Mel plays a lot of instruments (mainly violin) and helps run a girl guide group, which she has done for over 5 years.

Tom plays the guitar but is more into sports and enjoys football, racquet sports and keeping fit.

Both Tom and Mel regularly run together and it has been a great relief in lockdown to be able to exercise together in the mornings before work.

The proposal. Tell me everything. (All the gushy details!)

Tom asked for permission from Mel's dad on the day before their holiday to Taormina, Sicily in July 2018. Mel was on a day trip with the guides and so Tom came to her house earlier than he said he would and went to lunch with Brian, Mel's dad. Brian and Andrew, Mel's brother, said it was hard not to tell her when she got home as they knew but Mel didn't yet.

Tom hid the ring in his shoe as he needed to put it in Mel's suitcase for insurance purposes (this was the same shoe he put it in on the wedding day for old time's sake!)

Tom and Mel went for a walk on the first day of the holiday (1 July 2018) and saw a wedding taking place on the beach. Tom kept trying to change the subject (as the ring was back in the room) and abruptly suggested that they just spend the night having drinks on their balcony rather than going out into town. Mel reluctantly agreed (as she prefers adventures to nights in) and suggested they get a cheap bottle of wine for the night. Tom instead got a nice bottle of prosecco saying it would be good to toast the holiday.

They got back to the room as the sun was setting. Tom did not want to propose in shorts and t shirt so quickly changed into a shirt (but still shorts). He said it was a bit cold despite it being 25 degrees!

Mel was focused on what they were going to eat that evening and kept talking about different types of pizza or pasta. Tom shoe horned some romantic words and thoughts into the conversation and then got down on one knee and proposed as the sun set behind him. Mel said "yeah" immediately, which was the perfect response.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Reading…..Why this place above any where else?

we picked the Crowne Plaza due to its location by the riverbank near to where we live.

We often run along Caversham Bridge where Mel often stops to take photos of sunsets and the ducks so it seemed a perfect setting. Crowne Plaza were amazing and very accommodating and really saved our wedding.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

We hope that they had a great day celebrating our wedding!

Why did you have your wedding captured on video?

Where there were Covid restrictions in place, we want to be able to share the day with guests who were unable to attend. We also want to have memories of the day which we can enjoy watching and re-watching.
